The months of June, July and August are all about quality summer camp program at the Horseshoe Scout Reservation. Two camps, one on either side of the meandering Octoraro provide exceptional, diversified Scout programs.
Chester County Council's Camp Horseshoe offers one of the last seven day traditional Boy Scout summer resident camp programs in the country. With over 40+ merit badge choices, a stellar first-year program, computer lab, STEM offerings, a multitude of SIP's as well as older-Scout program opportunities including COPE, mountain biking and Independent Merit Badge Studies, Camp Horseshoe has something for every Scout!
Camp John H. Ware, 3rd offers summer camp opportunities for all levels of Scouting including a week of traditional Boy Scout camp as well as multiple sessions of Cub Scout overnight resident camp.
The Boy Scout program at Camp Ware is truly unique. As at Camp Horseshoe over 40 merit badges are offered as well as an excellent first year program. Scouts can attend with their troop or join our provisional unit. Whether working towards the STEM/NOVA Award, the rank of Eagle or opt on working towards multiple badges during on class through Experiential learning, Scouts will leave having made new friends and feeling very accomplished.
Our Cub & Webelos Scout overnight resident camp is a wonderful opportunity to work on advancement, learn new skills as well as have a whole lot of fun! It is the kind of place where life-long memories are made. In addition to our traditional four day Cub Scout camp, we offer an extended Webelos program with the focus on Arrow of Light achievement as well as what it will be like to camp as a Boy Scout.
BMX biking and Mountain boarding programs, along with BB guns, sling shot paintballs, archery, handicraft, nature programs, swimming and field sports are just some of the exhilarating activities your Scouts will enjoy while all wholly contained within the Camp John H. Ware, 3rd facility, only a short distance from any campsite.
Hidden within all this fun is an advancement program offering an extensive selection of pins and belt loops. Nothing wrong with learning while having fun. Your pack will leave with a complete list of their Scouts achievements. Infused into all aspects of program, meals and activities is an age appropriate, youth relate able theme providing endless adventure for Scouts (and adults) of all ages!
