Honoring our commitment to delivering the best possible program to
our youth, in Chester County Council we require all direct-contact adult
leaders to complete basic training for their position (Click here to see the Council Training Policy).
Untrained direct-contact leaders lose the privilege of serving in that
capacity and will be dropped from their unit charters when the unit
renews its charter at the end of the year.
To help units achieve
the standard of 100% direct-contact leaders trained, for the past year
we’ve periodically provided unit committee chairs and the top unit
leader with a Training Report for their unit. The Training Report is in
an Excel format and has three tabs. The first tab lists every
registered adult, their position, whether or not they’re trained for
their position, the training they’ve completed for their position, and
any training they may need. The second tab shows every adult position
in the unit and the minimum training required for each of those
positions. The third tab shows the Youth Protection status of every
registered adult as this training must be re-taken every two years.
Every youth deserves a
trained leader. Thank you for your service and for seeking the
training opportunities that will help you better serve our Scouts. For
more information, contact the Training team at training@cccbsa.org.

MyScouting and You
Below
are the step – by- step instructions on how to link the BSA ID# to the
MyScouting account. Keep in mind that by following these steps any
future training completed in the MyScouting portal will automatically be
logged in and our records will update. This is also especially helpful
at Recharter time and when filling out Tour Plans.
Log in to http://www.myscouting.org and Sign in To MyScouting with username and password.
Under MY PROFILE, Click on Update My Profile.
Scroll to the bottom of that page where MEMBERSHIP INFO is located.
Enter BSA ID# (contact training@cccbsa.org if you do not know this) as well as our council name from the drop down menu (Chester County Council - West Chester, PA - #539).
When completed, click SAVE PROFILE (located just above MEMBERSHIP INFO).
The page will update and you are done.
MyScouting Tips:
Once successfully completed an online course, the radio dial button will change colors - from yellow (not started) to blue (in progress) to green (completed). Please keep in mind, if a course has been successfully completed, but the radio dial button has not changed in color, please contact
training@cccbsa.org with your name, the course name and the date completed, and we will update your record manually for you, and send you a pocket training completion card. There is no need to take the course a second, or third time.
